UPCOMING Session:Thursday, April 5, 2018: 12-1pm MST
Leading With Love in Turbulent Times with guest Seane Corn
How can we commit to a conscious path of creating peace and healing in our lives, communities, nations and world if we disown, reject or deny the aggressive, helpless, devastated, fragmented, traumatized or shut down parts of us that need to be seen or known? If our interests are to serve the world, there is an internal task that invites inquiry, demands self-accountability and initiates a deep inner awareness that leads to empathy and understanding. This understanding of our own humanity, and the actions we take in the name of our shared humanity, is what can move our world towards peace.
When trauma or loss occurs in our life, that event is stored in our cells and soma (body) as well as in our mind (psyche). This disruption or fragmentation plays out in our life in ways sometimes unconscious to us, causing us to repeat deregulating patterns that continue to hurt us, or others around us. In order to understand peace and truly become a part of the change in which we are seeking, we must face and understand these self-sabotaging patterns. Through yoga and embodied practices, we can teach the body to heal itself by re-connecting these fragmented energetic and neural pathways. We can learn how to stand in the presence of conflict and chaos with the ability to remain calm and centered, and embrace humanity, in all it’s complicated forms, without reactivity and with love.
Join Seane for this talk about the journey towards awakening that includes understanding the mind/body connection, what sustainable leadership looks like and creates, and how to be authentic and mindful in our efforts to serve this world into peace.
