We believe that business is good because it creates value, it is ethical because it is based on voluntary exchange, it is noble because it can elevate our existence and it is heroic because it lifts people out of poverty and creates prosperity. Free enterprise capitalism is the most powerful system for social cooperation and human progress ever conceived. It is one of the most compelling ideas we humans have ever had. But we can aspire to even more.

What is Conscious Capitalism?

When :

Wednesday June 12, 6:00pm - 8:00pm

Where :

Local Coffee House, 614 E Cooper Ave, Aspen, CO 81611

WHAT :

To Reimagine America, we must reimagine capitalism. Capitalism has been extraordinarily successful over the past two centuries at raising human living standards, life expectancy, and life satisfaction. But the old way is not working anymore. The world has changed so much and people have evolved so rapidly that we need to bring a higher level of consciousness to the world of business. When we do so, the results can be astonishing.

About Tyler Moebius

Tyler, CEO of Fast G8, Chairman of the Board for Coventure, a 5-time entrepreneur and winner of the prestigious Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award. His last start-up grew to a 700 person company with 28 offices in 12 countries.

His passion lies in designing and developing innovative technology platforms that connect conscious brands with conscious consumers.

When his head is not in the digital ethos- his heart is grounded with his partner Oriana and 4 children on their small biodynamic farm at the base of Sopris. Where, with the help of the Waldorf community, they are raising conscious global leaders, who wonder at the beauty and stand guard over truth.

Tenets of Conscious Capitalism

1 : Higher Purpose

Knowing WHY your business exists provides you with a compass to find and stay focused on achieving your Higher Purpose. Profit is a means to the end of purpose for conscious businesses.

2 : Stakeholder Orientation

Conscious businesses value and care for EVERYONE in their ecosystem, motivating their stakeholders by creating “win-win-win” outcomes for all who are impacted by their business.

3 : Conscious Leadership

Conscious Leaders focus on “we,” rather than “me.” They keep the business focused on its Higher Purpose, and support the people within the organization to create value for all of the organization’s stakeholders. They recognize the integral role of culture and purposefully cultivate a Conscious Culture of trust and care.

4 : Conscious Culture

Culture is the embodied values, principles and practices underlying the social fabric of a business, signaling “how” business is done. A Conscious Culture fosters love and care and builds trust between a company’s team members and its other stakeholders. Conscious Culture also includes accountability, transparency, integrity, loyalty, egalitarianism, fairness, and personal growth, acting as an energizing and unifying force that truly brings a conscious business to life.

About Candice Olsen

Candice will share stories of working for one of the world's most renown media entrepreneurs, as well as her own experience as the first woman to take a company public in the U.S. Candice has built three successful enterprises at different scales and in different sectors: a pioneering online community, the education of young people globally, and a third designed to enhance local community in Aspen. Candice is the recipient of an Emmy for prime time television, and the Matrix, the highest U.S. peer award in marketing. She built businesses at American Express and Time Warner before heading into 25 years as an entrepreneur, working with Kleiner Perkins and other top venture capital firms. Now she is delighting in creating things with a new generation of leadership in Aspen and the Roaring Fork Valley. This adds up to lots of mistakes, which she is eager to share so you don't have to repeat. In the non-profit realm, Candice was a founding Board member who over a decade helped build an extensive charter school network serving 1,500 students in multiple neighborhoods in Brooklyn, and an ongoing sports program at a public school for gifted girls in Harlem, that has led to numerous full scholarships to top colleges.
