Love in Action : Ballot Party
Love in Action : Week 11
Love in Action : Alternating Wednesdays 12-1pm mst
Please join Lead with Love for zoom webinars every other Wednesday that highlight current issues related to justice, freedom and climate change that need of our help. We will provide tangible actions and perform these efforts during the 1 hour meeting.
This week our efforts will focus on Your Ballot and the Election.
Voting can be hard. We may have questions about our candidates or measures. We may have confusion about how or where we can submit our ballots. The wave of voter participation this election is gigantically inspiring but unprecedented, so information can still be hard to locate. For this collaborative session, we will work together, and research each other’s questions, support each other and hold each other accountable so that we can ensure that our votes are counted.

State of the Election
as of 10/26/20
Total Early Votes: 66,942,790
Mail Ballots: 44,610,382
In-Person Votes: 22,332,408
Early voting is anticipated as a response to Covid and yet the turnout has been record breaking.
Nationally, voters have already cast 48.6% of the total votes counted in the 2016 general election.
33 states have surpassed their pre-election vote totals from 2016.
Texas has already surpassed over 80% of total votes in 2016.
New Mexico and Montana have already surpassed over 70% of total votes in 2016.
Arizona, Colorado, Hawaii, Nevada, Florida, New Jersey, North Carolina, Washington, Tennessee, Vermont and Georgia have already surpassed over 60% of total votes in 2016.
Not all states report the ballots returned by party affiliation but by those that do, according to the US Elections Project's numbers, democrats appear to have returned mail-in ballots at a rate of two to one. Republicans have always been more likely to vote in person on election day and this year that trend may be stronger per Trump’s encouragement to do so.
Early voters, both by mail and in-person, are turning out in large numbers in states that are more likely to favor Biden.
